Founded 2001, the South Cochrane District Children’s Services Committee was formed to deal with trends of concern as a community in serving children, youth and young adults with special needs. This committee decided to meet challenges and concerns/issues through a workshop format.
- South Cochrane District Children’s Services Committee (SCDCSC) identified Transition to be another challenge for service provider, families.
- Timmins Transition Committee was formed in 2003.
- Fifty-four professionals, 23 agencies, 4 school boards and 5 parents make up the committee. Knowing some of the professionals are parents of children with special needs as well.
