Social skills program developed

At age 4

  • Begin involvment with social – recreational programs as soon as possible geared to child’s interests
  • Introduction to Special Olympics in Timmins as an option for those children whose condition mimics that of a developmental disability Special Olympics program
  • Referral by therapist only to Social Youth Group at the Cochrane Temiskaming Children’s Treatment Centre for youths with a physical disability
  • Social Youth Group participation, service can extend up to 21 years as a mentor, volunteer, leader
  • Life skill program needs to be developed for this population
